President Sezer meeting with Ambassador Song

H.E. Mr. Song Aiguo, Chinese Ambassador to Turkey, bid farewell to H.E. Mr. Ahmet Necdet Sezer, President of the Republic of Turkey at the Presidential Palace on 6th October and they had a kind and friendly talk with each other.

President Sezer pointed out that Turkey and China were both important countries in their regions and thanks to the joint efforts from the both sides, the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries developed in an all-round way in recent years with frequent visits at various levels, great expansion of economic cooperation and continuous cultural exchanges. He stated that Turkey attached importance to developing relations with China and consistently adhered to the one China policy. He said that under the current international situation, strengthening the relations between Turkey and China would not only benefit the peoples of both countries, but conduce to peace and stability in the regions as well. President Sezer appreciated Ambassador Song's contribution for actively developing the relations between Turkey and China.

Ambassador Song said that the friendly relations and cooperation between China and Turkey developed satisfactorily in recent years under the guidance of the principles of mutual respect, mutual trust, mutual benefit and win-win. He believed that the relations of the two countries would further develop with the joint efforts of the two sides. He also expressed his thanks to the President and the Turkish government for their kind help and assistance to him.
