On August 13, 2021, Ambassador Liu Shaobin sent a message of condolence to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu over the severe floods in Türkiye. The message is as follows:

We are saddened by learning about the severe floods in the Black Sea provinces of Kastamonu, Sinop and Bartin, which have caused casualties and property losses. On behalf of the Chinese Embassy, I would like to express deep condolences to the victims and extend sincere sympathies to the bereaved families. I am confident that the Turkish government and Turkish people will surely defeat the floods with their efforts.
